Bali airport to your hotel: which transfer should you book?
After landing, you need three things settled: where to find the car, what the ride costs and whether everyone fits with their luggage. Start there before comparing the headline prices.

Which option suits your arrival?
Pre-book a private transfer if you want the pickup arranged before you fly. Use an app if you are comfortable ordering after landing and finding the designated pickup point. Your hotel or villa may also arrange a car. Compare the total cost and conditions, rather than the first price you see.
At I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport (code DPS), airport taxis operate alongside the Grab and Gojek apps, which have designated pickup points. You do not have to assume that the only option is an offer from someone in the arrivals hall. Follow the current signs and the instructions from your chosen transport provider.
| Option | A good fit when | Check first |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-booked transfer | You want the vehicle and meeting arrangements settled | Destination area, waiting policy, luggage and total price |
| Pickup through your accommodation | You want to coordinate directly with your hotel or villa | Who meets you, how you pay and what happens if you are delayed |
| Grab or Gojek | You have a connection and are happy booking in the app | Pickup location, vehicle size and extra charges |
| Airport taxi | You prefer to arrange the ride at the appropriate counter or stand | Fare arrangement and destination before the journey |
An area name is not an address
Enter the full accommodation name and address, ideally with a map pin. If your villa has a similar name to another property or sits down a narrow lane, settle the final approach in advance. A driver needs your destination, not just “somewhere in Ubud”.
For families and groups, give the number of bags as well as passengers. Available seats do not tell you how much luggage will fit. If you need a child seat, have it explicitly confirmed rather than assuming one will be provided.
When booking ahead is worth it
An arranged pickup is useful after a long flight, when travelling with children or whenever you would rather avoid comparing transport after landing. You are paying for a clear meeting arrangement and a contact as well as the journey itself.
Our selection includes a private Bali airport transfer. Choose the correct destination area and passenger count, and read the waiting conditions for your option. An airport transfer is a one-way journey; it is different from hiring a car and driver for a full day of sightseeing.

Save these details before departure
- Your booking confirmation and transport contact, accessible offline.
- The full name and address of your accommodation.
- Instructions for the meeting point and identifying your driver or car.
- Conditions for a delayed flight, a later arrival at the meeting point or a changed flight.
- What the price includes and which extra charges may apply.
Your flight number helps the provider coordinate the pickup. It does not automatically mean unlimited waiting. If your flight changes or you cannot reach the meeting point on time, use the contact in your booking.
Keep arrival day flexible
Avoid tying your arrival to a tightly timed excursion or reservation. Airport formalities and the drive may take longer than expected. Check journey estimates for your actual address, arrival time and current traffic; one transfer time cannot describe the whole island.
If you are travelling straight to Ubud, leave room to check in and rest. Our one-day Ubud itinerary is a better plan for a separate day than something to begin with a suitcase after an overnight flight.
