South Lombok and Kuta
Kuta in Lombok is a base for discovering a different beach each day. Tanjung Aan, Mawun, Selong Belanak and the coastal hills bring together sea views, surfing and relaxed evenings.
Make Kuta your base
Choose accommodation and find places you would like to return to for breakfast or dinner. Head out towards the bays during the day, then come back for the evening. This is Kuta in Lombok, not the area with the same name in Bali.
Choose a beach for your kind of day
Tanjung Aan offers beach scenery and views of the surrounding coast. Mawun sits in a bay between hills. Selong Belanak is also known for opportunities to learn to surf. Choose one beach to spend time on and save others for the days ahead. Follow local guidance and conditions when entering the water.

Bukit Merese and the coastal views
Add a walk on Bukit Merese to your beach plans. The landscape opens up a different perspective on the south coast. It is a simple way to round out time by the sea without building a packed sightseeing schedule.
Discover Sasak culture too
South Lombok is about more than beaches. A visit to Sade village introduces traditional houses and local weaving. Combine the coast with a little of the island's culture, leaving space for food and stops of your own.
Make it part of an island journey
Reach Lombok by air or boat, depending on your route. If travelling by boat from Bali or the Gilis, arrange the onward journey from the port to Kuta as well. A stay in the south and time on the Gilis work as two distinct stages of the same holiday.
Transport
The boat ticket ends at the harbour – arrange your onward journey to Kuta separately.
