Bali Zoo: choosing tickets and planning your visit
Bali Zoo in Singapadu is a family outing of a few hours. The main decision is whether standard admission is enough or you want a package with breakfast or an elephant programme. Here is how to choose.

Bali Zoo at a glance
For a regular visit to Bali Zoo, standard admission is enough; choose an upgraded package only if you want a specific extra programme. According to the zoo's website, standard admission covers the grounds, the animal and bird presentations and the Jungle Splash Waterplay area for kids. Breakfast while watching orangutans, the elephant programme and transport are separate options, not part of every ticket.
Bali Zoo is in Singapadu, south of Ubud. Don't confuse it with Bali Safari and Marine Park – that is a different park with its own tickets. Check the name of the venue when you book.
What to decide before choosing a ticket
- Who is going: You choose tickets by age, so have your children's ages to hand.
- How much time you have: The zoo's website suggests about 3 hours for standard admission. Allow extra time for lunch and the water play area.
- How you will get there: Transport is not automatically included. Some options offer it; otherwise you arrange it yourself.
- Whether you want an extra programme: Breakfast and the elephant programme have their own times, conditions and restrictions.

With animal programmes, also go by what feels right to you. A visit can be interesting without touching the animals. Always follow the instructions of the zoo staff.
How to fit the zoo into your day
Aim to arrive in the morning. It is cooler and you have plenty of time, as last entry is before the grounds close. Check the exact times when you book.
You can combine the zoo with plans around Ubud, but don't add too many other stops. With kids, lunch and one more stop are enough. If you want to spend the rest of the day in town, see how to do Ubud in one day.
Bali Zoo with kids
For families, the draw is the Jungle Splash Waterplay area, which the zoo's website lists as part of standard admission. If you plan to use it, pack swimwear, a towel and a change of clothes. Most of the grounds are outdoors, so bring sunscreen, a hat and comfortable shoes.
Elephant programmes may not be suitable for young children, pregnant women or people with health conditions. Check the age and height restrictions for your specific option before booking.
If you are travelling with young children or in a larger group, a car with a driver is more comfortable. Agree the route and return time in advance within your booked area. Entry tickets are not included.

Choose your ticket
First choose the date and type of visit, then tickets by age. If you only want the zoo and the water play area, standard admission is enough. An upgraded package makes sense when a specific programme appeals to you and its timing suits your day.
